Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of construction, industrial, and farm machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our heavy equipment operating smoothly, minimizing downtime and supporting our ongoing projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for heavy machinery and a drive to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on Landscaping machinery, including excavators, tractors, skid steers, chainsaws, blowers, and zero turn mowers. Conduct diagnostics on diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, suspension, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire services, alignment checks, and lubrication to extend equipment lifespan. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Diagnose complex issues through electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics techniques; utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals for precise repairs. Service and repair farm machinery and industrial equipment; ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostics conducted to ensure traceability and compliance with safety protocols. Requirements Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician in dealership or construction environments. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other construction machinery. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, hydraulic systems troubleshooting, diesel engine repair, brake repair, suspension work, and HVAC systems. Skilled in using schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical assemblies; capable of reading technical manuals accurately. Experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; comfortable working with power tools and hand tools for equipment assembly or repair. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; familiar with tire service procedures and alignment processes. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on equipment troubleshooting; strong customer service orientation when interacting with clients or team members. Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment servicing are preferred; dealership experience is highly valued.
