Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time (Can lead to full time) Fleet Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician and play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles and heavy machinery. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors to ensure safety and operational readiness. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and diagnostic tools; execute repairs on transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and air brake systems. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Conduct inspections on vehicle systems including HVAC, electrical systems, powertrains, and vehicle alignment; troubleshoot issues with diesel engines and heavy truck components. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; interpret schematics for complex machinery repairs. Assist with tire service, heavy lifting tasks, equipment assembly, and welding projects to support ongoing maintenance needs. Ensure compliance with safety standards by performing regular inspections and adhering to protocols related to heavy equipment operation and vehicle maintenance. Experience Proven experience working as a mechanic in dealership or industrial settings with heavy equipment repair background. Hands-on experience with heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems repair including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and automotive electrical systems. Familiarity with schematics interpretation for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices for precise repairs. Experience working with diesel mechanics or heavy truck repair is highly desirable.
