About the Role As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will serve as a vital member of our maintenance team, ensuring the operational readiness of our diverse fleet. You will leverage your expertise in mechanical troubleshooting and diesel systems to maximize equipment uptime and support project success. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance and complex repairs on heavy machinery to ensure peak performance for end-users. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems, providing accurate labor estimates for service management. Manage the full lifecycle of repair documentation, ensuring all service records are precise and compliant with safety standards. Coordinate parts procurement and tracking to minimize downtime on active service projects. Proactively identify and report any safety concerns regarding shop tools or equipment to maintain a secure, OSHA-compliant work environment. Perform specialized refurbishing and programming tasks to modernize equipment functionality. Required Skills Minimum of 10 years of professional technician experience or a relevant technical degree. Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and technical diagrams. Extensive hands-on experience with heavy construction equipment, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems. Possession of a personal set of professional-grade hand tools. Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Clean driving record and ability to pass standard background and drug screenings. Preferred Skills Advanced knowledge of heavy equipment welding and fabrication. Proven track record in independent engine diagnostics and complex troubleshooting. Familiarity with MSHA safety regulations and best practices.
