Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy construction and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, enabling us to meet project deadlines and uphold the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, forklifts, and other construction machinery. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems across various equipment types using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Repair and replace components such as transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, and diesel engines to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to assemble, modify, or repair equipment parts as needed. Maintain detailed service records, complete maintenance logs, and document all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications. Assist in heavy lifting operations using appropriate equipment such as cranes or forklifts while adhering to safety protocols. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment troubleshooting issues. Experience Proven mechanic experience working with heavy construction or industrial equipment is essential. Dealership experience is highly preferred due to familiarity with OEM parts and diagnostic procedures. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including hydraulics, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering is advantageous. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for electrical diagnostics and engine repairs. Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair along with air brake systems is required. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes is a plus; familiarity with heavy equipment operation enhances troubleshooting capabilities. Ability to perform tire service, alignments, HVAC repairs, and general vehicle maintenance on various machinery types. Pay:
$25.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
