Description:
Test Engineering Technician who will support the manual and automated testing of space hardware. Testing may be performed at the circuit card, assembly, sub-system and/or space vehicle level. Experience handling sensitive hardware, very strong computer skills and the ability to strictly adhere to documented procedures is a must. Prior experience with RF, optical and/or digital technology is a must.Essential Functions:
- Transport test equipment, fixtures, and cables to required testing locations.
- Setup tests per written documentation and engineering direction.
- Verify all test equipment is in calibration.
- Verify all licensed test software is not expired.
- Assemble custom or COTS equipment/fixtures.
- Performs test and records required information.
- Document failures and reports any anomalies to key stakeholders.
- Executing automated software using LabVIEW and/or TestStand GUIs.
- Troubleshooting failed assemblies with engineering oversight.
- Operate RF, optical and/or digital test equipment including network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, OTDRs, OBRs, lasers, SOAs, BERT, DMMs and power supplies.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills.
- Experience handling very sensitive and fragile hardware, including mating and de-mating high density connectors, RF and optical connections.
- Experience with qualification testing, including vibration, thermal and thermal vacuum testing.
- Willing to work overtime as requested.
