Lead Mechanic Compliance & Day-to-Day Operations Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment and machinery to manufacturer specifications Lead troubleshooting on the most complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Conduct and oversee safety inspections across the shop and field sites Assign daily repair priorities and coordinate work orders among mechanics Enforce lock out / tag out procedures and shop safety standards Maintain the shop and field equipment in clean, organized, and safe condition Travel to construction sites as needed to support equipment repairs Perform other duties as assigned Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement Build and manage preventive maintenance schedules across the equipment fleet to minimize downtime Identify and implement process improvements that increase shop productivity and equipment uptime Set repair priorities when multiple pieces of equipment are down at once Financial Management & Risk Assessment Estimate, track, and manage repair costs and budgets across the shop Identify and mitigate risks and liabilities related to equipment condition and repairs Approve or escalate repair versus replace decisions based on cost and equipment history Track and report on parts, labor, and repair costs across the team's assigned equipment Team Leadership & Supervision Manage, schedule, and oversee the daily work of a team of mechanics and technicians Assign repair and maintenance tasks based on team members' skill sets and job priorities Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members Technology & Innovation Stay current on new technologies and equipment advancements Utilize and train others on computerized diagnostic tools and software Monitoring & Review Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records across the fleet Monitor equipment performance and maintenance needs, and report trends to leadership External Relations & Representation Communicate with vendors and suppliers to procure parts and equipment Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner

Requirements/Qualifications:

7+ years experience as a mechanic in the construction industry working with heavy equipment, including in a lead or supervisory capacity OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred Post-secondary training in heavy equipment mechanics, diesel mechanics, or a related field (certificate, diploma, or degree preferred but not required) Strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic ability, and problem-solving skills Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics Proven ability to lead, train, and hold a team accountable Excellent communication and organizational skills Physical ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Perform and oversee routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, cranes, and outboard motors Willingness to travel to construction sites and work in a shop or outdoor setting, with exposure to varying weather conditions High school diploma or equivalent

Salary/Benefits:
