Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Mobile Crane Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy construction and industrial equipment, including cranes, excavators, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. Your expertise will ensure that our equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our ongoing projects and operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for heavy equipment maintenance and a drive to deliver top-tier service in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mobile cranes, excavators, forklifts, and other construction machinery using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals and schematics. Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, diesel engines, air brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC components to identify issues accurately. Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work to repair or modify equipment as needed. Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized testing devices to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational requirements. Assist in heavy lifting operations during repairs or equipment installation to ensure safety and efficiency. Support customer service efforts by providing expert advice on equipment operation and maintenance best practices. Qualifications Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or service technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including cranes, excavators, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and troubleshooting complex systems. Skilled in welding, fabrication, hydraulic repairs, tire service, brake repair, transmission work, and diesel engine diagnostics. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with OEM parts is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus; familiarity with HVAC systems is beneficial. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate tools and techniques. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics, electrical systems, air brake systems or equivalent are advantageous.
