Must be able to perform equipment maintenance and repairs independently Georgia Heavy Machinery is looking for an experienced and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Athens, GA. We specialize in mini excavators and compact construction equipment , and we need someone who can confidently inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair construction and compact equipment Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting Perform routine maintenance and inspections Repair engines, hydraulic systems, attachments, and other equipment components Inspect used equipment and identify mechanical issues Prepare equipment for sale and delivery Test equipment after repairs Keep equipment clean, safe, and ready for customers Maintain an organized work area and track repair needs Assist with equipment inspections and customer demonstrations when needed Required Skills 3+ years of hands-on mechanical experience Heavy equipment or construction equipment repair experience Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills Hydraulic system knowledge Basic electrical and engine diagnostic skills Ability to work independently Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented Valid driver's license Preferred Experience Mini excavators Skid steers Compact track loaders Wheel loaders Diesel engines Hydraulic systems Construction equipment Automotive or industrial equipment repair Compensation $30
