Position Overview We are seeking a Yard Service Technician to inspect, clean, and repair 2-cycle engines and rental equipment. This role is essential to keeping our equipment safe, reliable, and ready to rent. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in tool rental, small engine repair, outdoor power equipment, powersports, or similar mechanical roles. Key Responsibilities Inspect and clean equipment before and after rentals Repair and service 2-cycle (two-stroke) engines Explain safe operation and basic features to customers Identify safety issues, misuse, or damage Load and unload equipment for customers and drivers Keep the yard organized and efficient Perform general yard maintenance as needed Follow all safety policies and procedures Support the team as needed Equipment & Repairs You will work on high-use rental equipment such as chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, cut-off saws, and other gas-powered tools. Common repairs include fuel system issues, carburetors, ignition components, pull starts, filters, and wear-and-tear failures. Qualifications Experience repairing and/or servicing 2-cycle engines Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to work independently and outdoors Customer-focused and professional attitude Ability to lift 50-70 lbs safely High school diploma or GED preferred Bilingual Spanish a plus (not required) Rental or construction experience a plus—training provided Why Northside Tool rental?
