Heavy Equipment Mechanic Posted on September 26, 2025 September 26, 2025 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy machinery and related equipment. This role is essential to ensuring equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and maintaining safe operations in both field and shop environments. Position Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair Perform scheduled services, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and to industry standards. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics Use diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and equipment knowledge to identify and fix problems. Recommend cost-effective repair solutions. Verify that equipment is operating safely and effectively after service. Parts & Inventory Management Order, track, and replace parts required for maintenance and repair. Keep detailed and accurate maintenance and service records. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance and equipment reliability. Prerequisites Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, technician, or similar role. Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and reading technical manuals. Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required) ASE Certification in Heavy Equipment or Diesel Mechanics. OSHA safety training or certification. CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
