Electric Motor Service Technician Axiom Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Electric Motor Service Technician for a manufacturing company specializing in AC NEMA and Metric IEC electric motors. The Electric Motor Service Technician will work in the machine and modification shop, performing electrical and mechanical repairs, modifications, inspections, and troubleshooting. This position requires previous electric motor or electromechanical repair experience.
Responsibilities:
Install, replace, repair, and modify mechanical and electromechanical motor assemblies. Work with bearings, terminal blocks, lugs, end rings, seals, leads, capacitors, switches, encoders, grounding rings, thermal protection sensors, space heaters, end shields, flanges, fans, fan guards, and junction boxes. Perform F1/F2 conversions, drilling, tapping, soldering, painting, and other motor modifications. Inspect motors and assemblies for damage, defects, and signs of malfunction. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical motor issues. Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports. Communicate professionally with customers regarding inspections and repairs. Prepare motor nameplate information. Operate computer-based and manual engraving equipment. Maintain an accurate inventory of parts, tools, and supplies. Operate a forklift as needed. Lift, adjust, tighten, and secure heavy equipment and components. Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized. Maintain and clean shop tools and equipment. Follow all safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment. Assist other technicians and service center personnel as directed.
Requirements:
Three to five years of relevant electric motor, EASA motor shop, or electromechanical troubleshooting and repair experience. High school diploma or equivalent required. Electrical-related coursework, vocational training, or a related degree required. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Experience with painting, soldering, drilling, and tapping. Ability to safely operate a forklift. Basic to intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word skills. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage changing priorities and work with a sense of urgency. Regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds. Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds with appropriate assistance or equipment. Use hands and arms to handle tools, parts, and equipment.
