Job Description

The Miranda Group is a family-owned Kauai powerhouse since 1981, operating construction, trucking, aggregate quarries, ready-mix concrete, and large-scale landscaping divisions island-wide. We maintain one of the largest privately owned fleets on Kauai (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack, concrete mixers, lowboys, excavators, dozers, loaders, and more) — all serviced in-house at our Anahola shop. Physical Requirements This is a very physical, hands-on shop and field position:
  • Frequently lift and maneuver 75-100+ lbs (engines, tires, tracks, components)
  • Work in awkward positions: lying underneath equipment, reaching overhead, confined spaces
  • Regularly climb on/off large equipment and work at heights using ladders or man-lifts
  • Push/pull heavy loads, torque large fasteners, operate air tools for extended periods
  • Stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for 8-10 hour shifts
  • Tolerate hot, humid shop conditions and outdoor field service in rain or sun
  • Good vision, hearing, and hand dexterity required for precision work and safety Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, transmissions, and drivetrains
  • Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections
  • Major component R&R (engines, transmissions, pumps, cylinders)
  • Field service calls across Kauai (quarries, job sites, landscaping yards)
  • Welding, fabrication, and cutting as needed
  • Accurate parts ordering and digital work-order documentation Requirements
  • 2+ years heavy equipment / Class 8 truck diesel experience
  • Own professional hand tools (specialty & air tools supplied) Highly Preferred
  • Cat, Komatsu, John Deere, or Cummins factory training
  • Welding / fabrication experience
  • Experience maintaining quarry crushers, screen plants, or concrete mixer trucks
