Job Description
Back Hawk Rental / Black Hawk Equipment is the area leader for Equipment Rental, New and Used Equipment Sales, and Equipment Parts/Service. As we continue to grow, we have an immediate opening for an experienced Construction Rental Equipment Technician. This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing rental equipment to ensure it is safe, reliable, and ready for customer use. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in delivering quality equipment and service. Key Responsibilities Inspect rental equipment upon return and prior to customer delivery. Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer and company standards. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues. Prepare equipment for rent, including cleaning, testing, and verifying proper operation. Complete service documentation, maintenance records, and work orders accurately. Load and unload equipment as needed and assist with equipment deliveries. Maintain shop tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner. Work closely with rental coordinators and sales staff to ensure equipment availability. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in equipment maintenance, diesel mechanics, automotive repair, or related field preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and understand service manuals and repair procedures. Valid driver's license required. Forklift certification or CDL is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Preferred Experience Construction, landscaping, agricultural, or industrial equipment repair. Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and small engine repair. Experience with skid steers, excavators, aerial lifts, generators, compressors, and other rental equipment.
