Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Technician and become a vital part of our maintenance and equipment service department! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting various construction, manufacturing, and logistics activities. We're looking for a motivated professional with a passion for machinery and a knack for troubleshooting to help us maintain top-tier equipment standards. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on forklifts, cranes, excavators, tractors, and other heavy construction machinery. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs including engine overhauls, transmission servicing, brake repairs, suspension work, and hydraulic system troubleshooting. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to repair or fabricate parts as needed. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist in equipment assembly, calibration, and testing to ensure operational readiness. Support the operation of heavy equipment during construction or industrial projects while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience in heavy equipment mechanics or construction machinery servicing; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, electrical diagnostics, and automotive repair. Familiarity with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and schematics for Caterpillar or similar brands. Skills in diesel engine diagnostics, air brake systems, HVAC systems, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and tire service. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently. Proficiency with vehicle maintenance tools including power tools and diagnostic software; experience with electrical systems is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues quickly. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients alike.
