Job Description
Z-Force Transportation is hiring an experienced Trailer Mechanic / Welder to join our Chicago Heights maintenance team. We're looking for someone who knows heavy-duty trailers and can handle both mechanical repairs and welding/fabrication . This position works on an active fleet and requires hands-on experience with trailer structures, suspension, brakes, air systems, lighting, and fabrication. Welding experience is required. retirement plan with company contribution Paid time off Full-time, year-round employment Consistent schedule and steady work Established fleet with a consistent maintenance workload Stable, growing transportation company Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trailers Perform welding and fabrication repairs Repair trailer frames, floors, rails, supports, and structural components Diagnose and repair trailer suspension systems Perform air brake repairs and adjustments Troubleshoot trailer lighting and electrical systems Repair air lines, valves, fittings, and related components Perform tire, wheel, and wheel-end repairs Repair landing gear, doors, hinges, latches, and trailer hardware Complete preventative maintenance and DOT-related repairs Complete trailer DVIR and repair-ticket deficiencies Identify structural and mechanical safety concerns Accurately document completed repairs and parts used Qualifications Previous heavy-duty trailer repair experience Welding experience required Strong welding and fabrication skills Knowledge of heavy-duty trailer suspension systems Knowledge of air brake systems Experience troubleshooting trailer lighting and electrical problems Understanding of wheel ends and trailer air systems Ability to diagnose and complete repairs independently Must have own basic hand tools Valid driver's license preferred Dependable attendance and strong work ethicJob Type:
