Job Description:
Ability to perform mechanical skills including electric and repairing of equipment.
Pay Rate:
Starting $ 50,000 /benefits
Essential Duties:
Dismantle devices to assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues. Records maintenance or repair work in an accurate log of all work performed. Performs routine inspections of vehicles and equipment for preventative maintenance. Plans and lays out repair work, and orders parts, supplies and equipment needed. Performs routine maintenance on ground keeping, such as landscaping and snow removal. Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition. Adheres to CHPD work safety policies. Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 20 years old. Three years of progressive experience in mechanical work: mechanics, small engine mechanics and electrical work associated with machinery. Ability to understand and work from written and oral instructions, construction documents, sketches, and schematics. Must be able to perform moderately physically intense tasks, potentially including any combination of the following: climbing, balancing, sitting, crouching reaching, pushing, and lifting. Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force frequently. Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work. Must be able to work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions. Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles and machinery. Experience with diagnostic experience and systems. Ability to handle various tools. Ability to multitask. Critical thinker and problem-solving skills. Team player. Good time-management skills. Applicants must be successfully able to pass a drug screen and background check.
