The technician will be responsible for ensuring that all forklifts are maintained in safe and reliable operating condition, minimizing equipment downtime and supporting daily warehouse and material-handling operations. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on electric, LPG/propane, and gas-powered forklifts. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel-system problems.
Troubleshoot forklift electrical systems, batteries, chargers, motors, controllers, sensors, and wiring. Perform maintenance and repairs on internal combustion engines, including LPG/propane and gas-powered forklifts.
Inspect and maintain hydraulic systems, including hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves, and fittings. Repair and maintain steering, braking, transmission, drive systems, and lifting mechanisms.
Inspect forks, masts, chains, rollers, tires, wheels, and other safety-critical components. Perform routine inspections and identify potential mechanical or safety issues before equipment failure occurs. Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical documentation to identify and resolve equipment faults. Conduct functional and safety tests after completing repairs or maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, repairs, replaced parts, and equipment condition. Report major defects, recurring problems, and equipment conditions to the supervisor.
Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and workplace safety procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area. Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs when required.
