Quality Drills is looking for mechanically inclined people who want to work hard, travel the country, make good money, and build a specialized skill set. Our crews travel across the United States working directly with farmers to rebuild, repair, and service large agricultural seeding equipment. One week you might be working on a farm in Texas, the next you're headed to Montana, Colorado, or somewhere you've never been before. We pay for the travel. You bring the work ethic. You'll work alongside a small crew, learn equipment most mechanics never get the opportunity to work on, and see firsthand what your work means to the farmers depending on that equipment. You do not need to come from an agricultural background. If you're mechanically inclined, comfortable with tools, willing to learn, and aren't afraid to work, we can teach you the equipment.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO

You'll travel with a crew of approximately 2-3 mechanics and technicians to farms across the country.

Your work will include:

Rebuilding and repairing no-till drills, air seeders, air carts, and related agricultural equipment Removing and installing mechanical components Diagnosing problems and helping get equipment field-ready Using impacts, grinders, band saws, grease guns, hand tools, and other equipment Working underneath and around large agricultural machinery Keeping your work area and company equipment organized Communicating with your Crew Lead and the rest of the team Occasionally interacting directly with the farmers we're there to help This is hands-on work. You'll get dirty. You'll learn. You'll solve problems. And at the end of a job, you'll be able to look at a piece of equipment and know your crew rebuilt it.

We want applicants to know exactly what they're signing up for. This is not a Monday-Friday, 8-5 shop job. Our normal rotation is approximately 14 days traveling / 4 days off. During our busiest seasons, tours can occasionally extend to 28+ consecutive days depending on workload, weather, customer needs, and travel schedules. Tour-extension bonuses may apply. This is also a high-hour position. During peak season, 90-100+ hour weeks can occur, including paid travel time. Winter hours are generally lower because much of our work is performed outdoors and daylight is limited, although some customers have shops available. You'll work weekends, spend nights in hotels, travel long distances, and work outside in heat, cold, wind, dust, and mud. If you want a predictable 40-hour week and to be home every night, this probably isn't the job for you. No agricultural experience? That's okay. If you have strong mechanical aptitude, know your way around tools, and are willing to learn, we're interested in talking to you.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must: Live within approximately 2 hours of Wichita, Kansas Have a valid driver's license and meet company vehicle insurance requirements Have a high school diploma or equivalent Be willing and able to travel approximately 90% of the time Be able to remain away from home for extended periods Be available for long hours and weekends when required Be dependable and communicate effectively Pass required background screening and drug testing

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is physically demanding mechanical work.

Candidates must be capable of:

Repeatedly lifting and carrying 75+ lbs. Standing and walking for extended periods Repeated bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling Working underneath and around large agricultural equipment Performing physical work during extended shifts of up to 12 hours Working outdoors in varying and sometimes severe weather conditions
