By joining our Equipment Section as a Transportation Auto Truck Technician I in Hardin County, you'll have the opportunity to Work on/with complex equipment repairs and builds for the district equipment fleet to keep roads and bridges safe for the traveling public.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repair of automotive, medium duty, and heavy (off road) equipment. Support daily operations of the KYTC Equipment Garage, including opening and completing repair orders. Maintain repair facility organization, provide equipment care, and ensure a safe and clean work environment Assist parts staff with inventory tasks such as stocking, labeling, and tracking parts usage Operate a variety of hand tools and shop equipment including lifts, hoists, torches, welders, pneumatic tools, presses, and lathes. Ideal candidate will have experience in: Working in a repair or garage environment. Using hand tools and mechanical equipment safely and effectively. Performing routine maintenance and basic mechanical repairs with minimal supervision. Assisting with troubleshooting and diagnosing common mechanical and electrical issues. Following established repair procedures, documenting work performed, and supporting repair order completion.
