Heavy Equipment Mechanic Location:
Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati Job Type:
Full-time, direct hire
Pay:
$30-$42 per hour, based on experience
Schedule:
5 to 6 days per week, with 8 to 12-hour shifts depending on workload

Weekly About the Position Crawford Consulting is recruiting an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for an established asphalt and concrete contractor serving Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati. This person will be responsible for keeping an active fleet of heavy construction equipment and diesel trucks running safely and reliably. We need someone who can diagnose the actual problem, complete repairs correctly, and work independently without needing constant direction. The equipment includes paving machinery, earthmoving equipment, diesel trucks, and other construction equipment. This is a stable, long-term opportunity with a family-owned company that has operated since 1954. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment, paving machinery, earthmoving equipment, and diesel trucks Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance on the company fleet Respond to roadside / on-site equipment breakdowns Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel systems Repair or replace engines and transmissions Diagnose and repair air-conditioning systems Read schematics, service manuals, and technical information Research unfamiliar issues and determine the correct repair Maintain a safe and organized work area Follow company safety procedures and operating standards What We're Looking For At least 5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability Experience repairing construction equipment, paving equipment, earthmoving machinery, or similar equipment Experience with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel systems Ability to complete repairs independently Basic personal tools required to perform the work Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work 5 to 6 days per week when needed Ability to work 8 to 12-hour shifts depending on workload Ability to lift up to 100 pounds Preferred Experience Diesel mechanic certification Class A CDL Engine rebuild or replacement experience Transmission rebuild or replacement experience Previous experience in asphalt, paving, construction, or fleet maintenance Benefits Competitive weekly pay Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with a 4% company match Annual bonus potential Paid vacation Paid holidays Paid training Stable, long-term employment Who Will Be Successful Here The right person takes pride in keeping equipment running and fixing problems correctly the first time. You should be dependable, comfortable working independently, and willing to help in the shop or in the field when equipment goes down. This is a hands-on mechanic position for someone who knows heavy equipment and wants steady work with an established local company.
