Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment repair and maintenance, particularly with heavy machinery and diesel engines. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. Pay depends on skill set. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of heavy equipment to identify mechanical issues. Perform repairs and maintenance on various types of heavy machinery. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems. Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks. Operate heavy equipment as needed for testing and evaluation purposes. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Skills Proven experience in shop environments focusing on heavy equipment repair. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance practices. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to fabricate components or parts when required for repairs. Experience operating heavy equipment safely and effectively. Familiarity with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
