Repairs, services and maintains all equipment in BREC's Fleet.
Education Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
Vo-Tech School Area of Study Preferred:
Mechanics, Turf-grass, and/or
Equipment Mechanics License Required:
Valid LA Driver's License Years Relevant Work Experience:
3 years' experience making repairs to small engines, electrical or industrial equipment. Experience in welding, fabrication, or related disciplines. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred:
5 or more years related experience; at least 3 years full-time at
BREC Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General mechanical knowledge of gas & diesel motors & equipment, electric carts & battery chargers Ability to work independently Good communication/interpersonal/organizational skills Skill in the use of hand and power tools Skill in the operation of industrial/mechanical equipment Ability to troubleshoot & make repairs using independent judgment Ability to read, write and articulate moderately complex instructions Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Troubleshoots, maintains, services, and repairs all BREC equipment, including but not limited to the following: mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, saws, tractors, backhoes, golf carts, utility carts, etc. Maintains and keeps clean the equipment, tools, shop, offices, rest rooms, storage areas, equipment yard, and other areas. Makes road calls in BREC truck as needed to various BREC sites Purchases parts and supplies using BREC guidelines and policies.
Secondary Job Duties:
Proper tracking of work via paper and/or digital systems. Occasionally assists mechanics and Lube Tech on vehicle maintenance as required. Other duties as assigned.
