Role Description This full-time, on-site Mechanic and Mechanic Helper role is located in Harvey, LA and supports the maintenance and repair of vehicles, heavy equipment, and marine-related machinery. Daily responsibilities include performing inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, completing routine and preventive maintenance, and assisting with repair work under the direction of senior mechanics. The role involves using hand and power tools, following safety procedures, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and keeping work areas clean and organized. The Mechanic and Mechanic Helper collaborate with operations staff to prioritize repairs, minimize downtime, and ensure equipment is safe and ready for field use. This position may require occasional overtime and work in outdoor and industrial environments. Qualifications Ability to perform general Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair tasks on vehicles, heavy equipment, and related machinery. Experience with Preventive Maintenance practices, including routine inspections, servicing, and scheduling maintenance activities. Familiarity with Heavy Equipment systems and components, such as hydraulics, diesel engines, and mechanical assemblies. Strong Troubleshooting skills for identifying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and assisting in root-cause analysis. Basic mechanical aptitude for a Mechanic Helper; advanced mechanical skills and experience for a Mechanic. Understanding of workplace safety standards and ability to follow company safety policies and procedures. Ability to read and interpret manuals, work orders, and technical documentation. Reliable transportation to the Harvey, LA worksite and ability to work full-time with potential overtime. Previous experience in maritime, oilfield, or industrial environments is preferred but not required. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; relevant technical training or certifications are a plus.
