Experienced Equipment Mechanic Rich's Wash Dat Car Wash - 1.0 New Orleans, LA Job Details Full-time $22 - $30 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Field service equipment repair Conveyor systems Industrial motor maintenance and repair Power transmission system maintenance Driver's License Electrical motors Mechanical pump maintenance Conveyor assembly Industrial pump maintenance and repair Power tools Hand tools Material handling equipment maintenance Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced Equipment Mechanic to perform hands-on repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of automated car wash equipment across five locations in the New Orleans area. This position is intended for someone with a strong mechanical background who regularly works with tools to , repair, install, and rebuild equipment. We are not seeking machine operators, production workers, or general laborers. Pay range is up to $30 per hour plus PTO and Health Care.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair equipment failures Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, bearings, gear boxes, conveyors, and related equipment Conduct routine equipment inspections Complete repairs independently and prioritize work with the Maintenance Director Respond to equipment downtime and emergency service calls Must be able to: Replace bearings, motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, and mechanical components Use common mechanic's tools safely and effectively Perform repairs with minimal supervision
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on experience repairing, installing, and maintaining mechanical equipment. Examples include industrial maintenance mechanics, automotive technicians, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment mechanics, marine mechanics, or similar skilled trades. Experience replacing and repairing pumps, motors, bearings, conveyors, and gearboxes Comfortable using mechanical hand tools and power tools daily Ability to work independently across multiple locations. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends for emergency repairs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with pumps, motors, bearings, conveyors, and gearboxes Experience troubleshooting pneumatic systems Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems Experience with electrical systems and motor controls Experience with car wash equipment
