Job Description
We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Heavy Equipment Technician to join our service team in Madison, Maine. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment and will take pride in completing high-quality work safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Perform scheduled maintenance and equipment inspections. Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, and mechanical systems. Use a laptop to access repair information, diagnostic programs, service manuals, and detailed repair procedures. Accurately document repairs and completed service work. Work independently while collaborating with other members of the service team. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Communicate clearly and ask questions when additional information or assistance is needed. Qualifications Previous experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment. Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Strong computer skills and the ability to use electronic service and diagnostic resources. Must provide your own tools. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to stand and work in a repair shop environment for most of the day. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Preferred Experience Technical school graduate in diesel technology, heavy equipment repair, automotive technology, or a related field. Previous experience working in a heavy equipment repair shop. Experience repairing forestry, construction, agricultural, diesel, automotive, truck, or other commercial equipment. Candidates with experience in other vehicle repair fields are encouraged to apply.
