We are selecting our first group of Founding Mobile Mechanics for the Metro Detroit launch. How FixBridge Works A customer requests automotive service through FixBridge. Available mechanics receive the job information. You review the vehicle, repair request, location, timing, and potential compensation. You decide whether to submit a quote or pass on the opportunity. If the customer selects your quote, you travel to the customer and complete the repair. You submit the required completion photos and service information. Providers are paid per successfully completed job, not by the hour. The displayed $30-$60 hourly range is an estimated equivalent only and is not guaranteed. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and heavy equipment, including trucks, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Conduct mechanical systems repairs such as transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and HVAC components. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues accurately and efficiently. Carry out equipment maintenance tasks including welding, tire service, alignment, shocks & struts replacement, and general assembly work. Operate power tools and heavy lifting equipment safely to perform repairs on-site at customer locations. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Communicate effectively with clients regarding repair needs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction. Experience Proven experience working as a mechanic with dealership backgrounds or heavy equipment operation is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle systems repair, and heavy truck repair is essential. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques, welding (including soldering), and equipment maintenance is advantageous. Familiarity with schematics interpretation for electrical and hydraulic systems enhances troubleshooting efficiency. Demonstrated ability to perform vehicle maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, shocks & struts, and air brake systems. Experience working with heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, or industrial equipment is a plus. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to ensure professional client interactions.
