Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Mechanic/Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy equipment, industrial equipment, and automotive gas, diesel vechicles. Your expertise in fabrication, welding, and mechanical troubleshooting will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, contributing to the smooth operation of our operations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, skid steers, forklifts, and industrial machinery using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension adjustments, and transmission servicing to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate and modify components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Repair and maintain vehicle fleets including tractor-trailers, ensuring compliance with safety standards such as air brake systems and alignment procedures. Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC components, shocks & struts, and other mechanical systems to diagnose issues accurately. Use heavy lifting techniques safely when handling large parts or equipment; operate heavy machinery such as excavators when necessary for repairs or assembly. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed; adhere to safety protocols during all maintenance activities. Skills Proven experience working as a mechanic or fabricator within our shop environments or industrial settings. Strong fabrication skills including welding (MIG/TIG), soldering, and metalworking techniques. Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, forklifts, man lifts and other construction equipment. Proficiency reading schematics for electrical wiring, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, and vehicle diagnostics. Mechanical knowledge of automotive repair including brake systems, suspensions, shocks & struts, air brakes, transmissions and tire service. Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers; power tools including drills and grinders; and specialized equipment for assembly or repair tasks. Experience with diesel engine repair; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands is a plus. Strong troubleshooting skills combined with excellent customer service attitude when interacting with clients or team members. Physical ability for heavy lifting; comfortable working in various environmental conditions; committed to safety standards at all times.
