Job Description
Looking for more than routine shop work? Join a team that supports some of the country's largest infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects. We're seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, traveling to major job sites, and working independently in the field. This position offers the opportunity to support high-profile projects across the Midwest and throughout the United States, with relocation opportunities based on project assignments. What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of heavy construction equipment in the field Troubleshoot complex hydraulic, electrical, engine, and electronic control systems Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics Utilize OEM diagnostic software and maintenance management systems Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to maximize equipment uptime Work closely with project teams to keep critical equipment operating safely and efficiently Travel extensively to project sites throughout the region and across the U.S. Qualifications Required Minimum 4 years of heavy equipment maintenance or field service experience Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics Experience using OEM diagnostic software and computerized maintenance systems Valid Class B CDL (Class A preferred) Company reimbursement available for CDL licensing costs Previous field service and travel experience Willingness to travel extensively and relocate based on project needs Stable employment history Own basic mechanic's hand tools (up to 1/2-inch drive) Flexible schedule with the ability to adapt to changing project timelines Compensation & Benefits $40.00$46.00 per hour , based on experience and qualifications Overtime paid after 40 hours per week Employer-paid medical benefits beginning the first of the month following hire 401(k) with company match up to 4.5% Annual profit sharing (typically $4,000$5,000 ) Two to four weeks of paid vacation, based on experience Paid absence time accrual Annual clothing allowance Boot reimbursement ($150 annually) Winter clothing provided Company replacement of damaged work tools (1:1 replacement) Company vehicle provided (take-home or assigned chase truck, depending on project) Travel Benefits When assigned away from your home area, the company provides: Daily per diem based on U.S. Department of Labor rates Fully paid for your choice of Hotel or RV accommodations, including reimbursement or fully serviced on-site hookups where available Flights home during extended breaks (typically for rotations with three or more consecutive days off) Spouse travel vouchers for qualifying rotations Schedule Typically 12-hour shifts, Monday through Saturday Overtime after 40 hours Occasional seven-day work schedules based on project requirements Typical rotation of 11 days on / 3 days off (project dependent) Extended travel required (approximately 80100% depending on project assignment) Why Join Us?
