Mechanic-Romulus 1 Superior Materials - 3.2 Romulus, MI Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications CDL B Air Brake Endorsement Full Job Description Operating and inspecting equipment to diagnose defects o Visually inspecting and listening to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions o Dismantling and reassembling trucks, machines, and equipment to gain access to problem area o Examining parts for damage or excessive wear and determining re-usability o Repairing, replacing, cleaning, and lubricating parts as necessary o Repairing malfunctioning hydraulic components o Diagnosing and correcting electrical problems o Replacing malfunctioning subassemblies and components (e.g., transmissions, clutches, differentials, engines, etc.) o Welding, cutting, and fabricating of all equipment and components o Changing oil, checking and changing batteries, and performing complete lubrication tasks on equipment and machinery o Changing tires and repairing tires and tubes o Testing repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency o Performing preventive maintenance o Making recommendations for equipment to be repaired by outside sources o Requisitioning parts and equipment o Record keeping and reporting o Providing general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe facility CDL B with air brakes 5-7 years experience o Knowledge of heavy equipment & mixer trucks o Knowledge of engines o Knowledge of hydraulics o Knowledge of braking systems o Knowledge of driveline to include clutch, flywheel, transmissions, and differentials o Knowledge of steering mechanisms and suspensions o Knowledge of electrical systems o Mechanical skills o Welding, cutting, and fabricating skills o Ability to manipulate tools (e.g., hand tools, power tools) Ability to read and write o Ability to understand manuals Lifting up to 50 pounds o Using hands to manipulate tools o Standing, walking for extended period of time o Working outside o Crawling under truck on back o Bending, kneeling, stooping o Climbing o Working at elevated heights o Manipulating components in hard-to-reach places with hands or tools o Hearing
