Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operational, minimize downtime, and support our ongoing projects. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment using electrical, automotive, and hydraulic schematics to identify issues accurately. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders to ensure they meet safety and operational standards. Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems involving transmissions, diesel engines, air brakes, suspension systems, hydraulics, and HVAC systems. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to facilitate repairs or custom modifications. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and future reference. Assist with equipment assembly, installation, and testing to support new machinery deployment or upgrades. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding equipment status and repair timelines. Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, electrical diagnostics, hydraulic systems, and diesel engine repair. Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software for troubleshooting. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment such as excavators or forklifts when necessary. Certification in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment operation is highly desirable; relevant licenses or certifications related to air brake systems or HVAC are a plus.
