Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Mechanic to join a Wixom-based team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gas, diesel, and electric forklifts, both in-shop and occasionally on-site at customer locations. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in forklifts and material handling equipment Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections Order and replace parts as needed Keep detailed service records and complete work orders Maintain cleanliness and safety in the shop and on job sites Communicate with customers and team members clearly and professionally Occasionally travel to customer sites using company service vehicles Qualifications 2+ years of experience as a forklift or heavy equipment mechanic preferred Knowledge of propane, diesel, and electric-powered lift trucks Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Valid driver's license and clean driving record Own basic hand tools (company provides specialized tools and equipment) Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance options Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with company match Company vehicle provided for field service work Opportunities for growth and continued training #
