Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is looking for a technician who will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on buses, light rail vehicles, trucks, and related equipment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, and propulsion systems; conducting inspections and repairs; welding and fabricating components; utilizing computerized diagnostic tools; and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience maintaining heavy-duty vehicles or transportation equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to adapt to evolving vehicle technologies while supporting reliable public transit operations.   • High school diploma/GED plus 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience OR an Associate's degree/technical program certifications in diesel, electro-mechanical, transportation equipment, aviation, or related field.
  • 1 year of experience performing preventive maintenance, inspections, component rebuilds, and fabrication/welding tasks.
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, controls, motors, and PLCs preferred.
  • Proficiency using computerized diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new vehicle technologies.
