Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description:

Midwest Heavy Construction is looking for a Heavy Equipment/Truck Mechanic to join its growing team. This challenging and important role will play a large part in the success of our field operations. This position will require the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of various types of heavy equipment and trucks. Qualified candidates must be able to keep a level head under stressful conditions, effectively interact with other employees and be willing to work overtime when required. Typical Duties include but are not limited to: Troubleshoot, evaluate and repair construction equipment both in the shop and in the field. Disassembly and reassembly of unit to repair equipment and/or replace parts. Perform preventative maintenance. Document all work done on each piece of equipment. Work with other employees in a professional manner. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 2 years previous experience in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and trucks is required. Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions High School diploma or equivalent Must be able to use the following tools including but not limited to welding tools, hand tools and air tools. Must be able to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs. occasionally. Requires manual dexterity and ability to bend, twist, turn stretch, squat, kneel, sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in elevated and enclosed areas. Ability to travel occasionally. Possess valid Class E Drivers License. Self-Motivated Willing to learn about new equipment and process's. Pre-Employment and periodic drug testing.

$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
