Job Details Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect, mount, dismount, repair, rotate, and replace OTR tires and wheel assemblies. Service large mining and heavy equipment, including haul trucks, loaders, graders, and related equipment. Perform tire-pressure checks, tread-depth measurements, visual inspections, and tire-condition assessments. Identify tire, wheel, and rim conditions that may create safety or operational concerns. Operate tire-handling equipment, hydraulic tools, jacks, compressors, service trucks, and other specialized equipment. Maintain accurate service records, tire-tracking information, work orders, and inspection documentation. Communicate service needs, tire conditions, and equipment concerns to mine personnel and Southern Tire Mart management. Maintain the assigned service area, equipment, tools, and vehicle in a safe and orderly condition. Follow all Southern Tire Mart policies, customer-site requirements, MSHA regulations, and applicable safety procedures. Properly use required personal protective equipment. Participate in safety meetings, training, and required mine-site certifications. Respond to service needs according to the assigned work schedule, including overtime, weekends, holidays, or emergency callouts when required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous OTR tire service, commercial tire, mining, construction, industrial maintenance, or heavy-equipment experience is preferred. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate hand, pneumatic, hydraulic, and tire-service equipment. Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with customers and management. Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required service documentation. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Commercial Driver's License preferred or required depending on the assigned service vehicle. MSHA certification is preferred; required training may be provided to the selected candidate. Must be able to satisfy applicable customer-site access, background-screening, motor-vehicle, and drug-testing requirements. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, push, and pull. Lift and move tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 75 pounds, with assistance or mechanical equipment used when appropriate. Work around large vehicles, heavy equipment, moving machinery, elevated noise levels, dust, and changing weather conditions. Work outdoors during heat, cold, rain, and other conditions commonly encountered at an active mine site. Wear required personal protective equipment for extended periods.
