We currently have an opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team supporting highway projects in Kalispell, MT. Qualifications Valid Driver's License Minimum two(2) years of heavy equipment mechanic experience strongly preferred Experience in Construction is preferred Key Functions Determines equipment's condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts. Maintain, repair and trouble shoot problems on all road construction equipment and trucks. This would include paving equipment, rollers, loaders, water trucks, tractors/belly dump trailers, brooms and other various equipment Troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems and identifying appropriate repairs Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; completing winterization procedures. Ability to use software/technical programs Maintains equipment records by annotating services and repairs Work closely with other shop personnel, management and fleet administrators Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures when completing repairs and day to day activities while in the field and/or yard Specific Skills Work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations Must have own basic tool collection Effective communication, interpersonal and time management skills Positive Attitude and be dependable Team oriented with the ability to work independently when necessary Self
  • starter Ability to troubleshoot Must be able to work overtime as needed Physical Requirements Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs.
and 25 lbs. regularly Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement Sit and/or stand up for long periods of time Reach with hands and arms Bend at the waist, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull Climb ladders/steps Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, and vibrations Compensation Hourly rate of pay $27 to $35 an hour based on experience for private jobs. Prevailing Wage may apply to all jobs on the road. Daily Per Diem when working away from Kalispell, MT Medical Insurance Year 1
