About the

Role:

Ready to Make a Difference? The Stormwater Crew Member performs general maintenance and construction work on the City's stormwater systems. This position requires strong teamwork skills, independent judgment in the field, and the ability to follow technical and safety procedures.

• This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
• Key responsibilities include: Operating job-specific equipment such as single-axle and tandem dump trucks.

Driving trucks and operating equipment during the snow and ice removal program. Installing and repairing stormwater systems (both open and closed). Working in confined spaces, ditches, creeks, and in and around traffic and heavy equipment. Applying technical and safety training to complete assignments effectively. Assisting in emergency response and working flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Physical requirements:

Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and walking on uneven surfaces. Shoveling and lifting up to 50 pounds. Working outdoors in all weather conditions. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED with experience in general construction or experience installing or maintaining underground utilities; Valid Driver's License North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License ("Or" the ability to obtain within 120 days of hire date. Specific sections of positions may require a Class A and/or other tanker endorsements; specific sections may require a pesticide license
