Job Description

Overview Verify orders to be loaded onto truck to assure that customers get a correct and completely damage-free order. Load orders on truck in the proper sequence as to avoid damaging product during and transit to customers.

Responsibilities Accountabilities:
  • Must work in a safe manner adhering to all company safety guidelines, update equipment daily, and check list.
  • Set refer units and make sure unit is working properly to cool trailer to desired temperature and that trailer is clean prior to loading product on trailer.
  • Account for all pallets of al commodities.
  • Re-stack pallets as necessary to ensure no heavy items are loaded on light items that would damage in transit and that loads will properly fit on trailer.
  • Must be able to operate and use jack in a safe manner so as not to endanger self or co-workers.
  • Assemble loads with label facing out based on commodity and customer to assure product can be easily unloaded one at delivery site.
  • Use jack to load product on trailer in proper sequence making sure that weight is distributed evenly in trailer, and in compliance with government weight standards.
  • Place required delivery equipment on trailer, shut and seal door.
  • Complete paperwork and fill out load sheet.
  • May be required to reach, lift, and stack cases ranging in weight from 1 to 100lbs.
  • Sweep out trailers prior to loading.
  • Must load by RF and understand all its functions.
  • May be required to do other tasks, as necessary.
  • Responsible for following all training documents and procedures as it relates to Food Safety and Food Defense ___________________________________________________________________________

Qualifications Desirable Qualifications:
  • Must be able to reason and have basic decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and possess basic math skills (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must possess ability to operate equipment mounted RF computer.
  • Must be able to follow logical progression of guidelines in stacking and loading trailers.
  • Must possess moderate level spatial reasoning problem solving skills (solve moderate loading issues through visualization and understanding of spatial relationships of objects of different sizes).
  • Must pass the written Checker Test.
