Job Description

The Decon Operator I is an essential member of the Baranko Environmental team, responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of Technologically Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (TENORM) decontamination activities. This position handles, processes, monitors, and moves materials throughout the decontamination facility while ensuring activities are properly documented and materials meet established TENORM requirements.
RESPONSIBLITIES
Safely operate skid steers, telehandlers, front-end loaders, and other heavy equipment to transport pipe and sucker rods throughout the yard and decontamination facility. Guide, position, organize, and maintain accurate, detailed records of pipe and sucker rods throughout decontamination operations. Assist with decontamination facility start-up, shutdown, inspections, and routine equipment maintenance. Inspect equipment, tools, and work areas before and after each shift and promptly report any issues, defects, or unsafe conditions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors and follow all company, facility, yard, and equipment safety policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
Basic mechanical knowledge or skills; mechanical experience preferred but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate. Heavy equipment operating experience preferred; training available for the right candidate. Ability to remain seated and focused for extended periods. Ability to perform physical labor and occasional heavy lifting as needed. Willingness to work outdoors in varying and potentially harsh weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with all company drug and alcohol policies.
