Job Description

Service Technician
  • Shop or Field Agricultural Machinery & Heavy Farming Equipment Locations Across North Dakota Our partner, is a fifty-year-old, successful privately held, family-oriented equipment company with thirteen (13) locations throughout Western North Dakota.
A regional leader in the provision of top-of-the-line agricultural, heavy equipment, diesel engines, and drivetrain equipment used in the Farming, and Agricultural industries , they are a preferred and strategic John Deere dealer group (https://www.deere.com ) with deep roots in North Dakota.
What You Will Do:
Due to market expansion, we are seeking multiple experienced heavy equipment/farming and agriculture mechanics (both shop and field based) to add to their team. With a focus on supporting customers in North Dakota, we are seeking skilled mechanics/field service technicians to support this booming business! Your 2+ years of experience supporting heavy equipment and/or agricultural/ turf equipment including John Deere, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Kubota, etc. will make you a strong candidate to add to this team. Supporting an organization that works on large diesel and hydraulic based agricultural heavy equipment, the ability to read schematics, troubleshoot electrical issues, maintain, and repair large pieces of equipment, on customer premises and in a more formal shop environment are requirements for this position. Performing repairs as well as rebuilds, you are a "mechanics' mechanic" , rarely phased by perplexing mechanical issues, but rather facing them as a challenge and puzzle to be solved. As this role includes interacting with customers, strong communication skills will be appreciated when timelines are tight, with your customers working to deadline.

The Nuts and Bolts of The Job:
You will perform basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment.
You will:
  • Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
  • Participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  • Maintain condition of vehicles , inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat timely manner.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  • Account for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties.

Knowledge :
A Certificate of Completion from a Technical or Trade School, two years of related experience and/or training, or an Equivalent combination of "roll up your sleeves" on the job education and experience. High School Degree/ GED required. Aptitude & Work Ethic
  • A strong mechanical aptitude, from the time you could stand you liked to "tinker" and fix things, and good work ethic: you take pride in your job, are hardworking and are reliable.
Your word is your bond.
Experience:
Minimum of two + years mechanical experience, working in a busy team-based environment where you have supported the repair of heavy equipment/ construction/ farming/turf/ oil and gas equipment.
Driver's License :
Must maintain a valid driver's license. Able to lift 75 pounds repeatedly is required.
It would be great if:
You possess forklift certification.
