Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic Yard Service Technician and Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of material handling and industrial machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. You will operate and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, front end loaders, crane, grinding and screening equipment. Your mechanical expertise and hands-on skills will keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the success of our operation. Duties Operate heavy equipment including excavator, crane, front end loader, de-barker, bobcat, chipper, and screens Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on our material handling equipment and machinery Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, and hydraulic systems knowledge Perform welding, fabrication, tire service, brake repair, suspension adjustments, and alignment tasks to keep equipment in top condition Assist with assembly, disassembly, and installation of machinery components using hand tools and power tools Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, and safety documentation Qualifications Proven experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or service technician Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and suspension components Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding (including soldering), electrical diagnostics, automotive repair, and equipment troubleshooting Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes (including boom cranes), bobcat, and other material handling and production equipment safely Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams is highly desirable Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools for maintenance and repair tasks Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally Physical ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining safety protocols Join us to be part of a successful productive team dedicated to transforming raw forest materials into valuable forest products. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
