Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead Mechanic to oversee our maintenance and repair operations for a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery. In this vital role, you will lead a team of technicians, ensure equipment is operating at peak performance, and uphold safety standards. Your expertise will drive efficiency, reduce downtime, and support our commitment to reliable service. Responsibilities Oversee and supervise daily maintenance and repair activities for heavy equipment, trucks, and related machinery Conducts a variety of testing, repair, installation, and maintenance tasks on equipment including engines, transmission, electrical systems, brake systems, suspension, steering, electronics, and painting equipment, as well as: Remove, inspect, repair, replaced all component as necessary Removes and replaces defective parts Removes and replaces defective diesel engine components Removes and replaces engine and transmission Able to Rebuild engine Able to diagnose various vehicle components Repairs equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment and measuring instruments Performs necessary adjustments to diesel engine (e.g., valve, timing, injector heights) Determine whether or not equipment is able to stay in service Inspects bearings, axles, and related parts of brake system Able to replace, repack, and adjust wheel bearing on brake system Repairs and maintains all facets of the brake systems (including air brakes) Changes filters, oil, tires, worn parts, and light bulbs as part of equipment inspection Diagnose complex mechanical issues using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and diagnostic tools Perform fabrication, welding, and equipment modifications to meet operational needs Oversee the repair of transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and powertrain components Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and vehicle maintenance Manage inventory of hand tools, parts, and supplies necessary for repairs Provide training and mentorship to technicians on mechanical systems repair and troubleshooting techniques Proficiency in fabrication, welding, and use of power tools Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams accurately Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics and diesel engine repair Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age Must have a high school diploma or
GED, ASE
certification a plus Possess at least three (3) years of mechanical experience, preferably diesel Possess a valid Driver License with the ability to obtain a CDL License or preferably possess a CDL License Be able to pass the pre-employment physical and background checks Have a good driving record with less than five (5) points Must have own tools Be able to work Mon-Fri from 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM.
Pay:
$30.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
