Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet trucks and trailers, light repairs. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting our commitment to excellence in service and reliability. This position offers an exciting opportunity for hands-on work and the chance to develop your mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on fleet vehicles and trailers. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, hydraulic system checks, and air brake inspections to prevent breakdowns. Repair and replace mechanical systems including suspensions, shocks & struts, and steering components. Utilize hand tools, and power tools. Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive electrical repairs and diagnostics for vehicle systems across trucks and farm machinery. Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, parts used, and service schedules to ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform equipment maintenance to uphold operational efficiency. Preferred but not required - Bilingual, welding and fabrication. Skills Proven experience working as a shop mechanic with dealership or industrial background preferred. Preferred but not required knowledge with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues efficiently.
