Job Type:
Full-time Job Overview Roadrunner Tractors & Equipment is looking for an experienced and dependable Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to join our Las Cruces service team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing tractors, agricultural equipment, attachments, UTVs, and related machinery. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can accurately troubleshoot equipment, and understands the importance of getting our customers back to work as quickly as possible. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and engine-related problems Perform maintenance and repairs on tractors and agricultural equipment Service diesel engines, transmissions, cooling systems, brakes, steering systems, and drivetrains Diagnose and repair hydraulic leaks, pumps, hoses, cylinders, and control systems Perform routine services, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and inspections Install and service loaders, backhoes, attachments, and implements Complete new-equipment setup and pre-delivery inspections Use diagnostic equipment, service manuals, and wiring diagrams Clearly document repairs, parts used, and work performed Communicate repair findings and recommendations with the service team Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Assist with field-service calls when needed Qualifications Previous experience repairing tractors, agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, diesel vehicles, or similar machinery Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical repairs Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs with limited supervision Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must be dependable, organized, and able to work well with customers and coworkers Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions Technical training or industry certifications are preferred but not required What We're Looking For We want someone who is honest, motivated, and takes pride in doing the job correctly. The right candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, pay close attention to detail, and understand the value of dependable customer service.
