Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, supporting various projects that require top-tier mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment, in a fast-paced environment that values precision and proactive maintenance. Pay is Dependent on experience. Must have a valid driver's license. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and schematics. Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, hydraulic system servicing, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and tire service to maximize equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot electrical systems using electrical diagnostics tools; repair wiring issues and replace faulty components to ensure safety and compliance. Fabricate custom parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Inspect and repair farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle systems including transmissions, air brakes, HVAC systems, and alignment procedures. Utilize hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and heavy lifting equipment efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; ensure timely documentation for warranty claims and maintenance schedules. Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with a strong background in construction machinery maintenance is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, electrical diagnostics, and automotive repair techniques. Skilled in reading schematics and OEM manuals for accurate troubleshooting and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial machinery. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely for testing repairs or performing on-site maintenance tasks. Proficiency with welding, soldering, fabrication techniques, and the use of hand tools along with power tools for assembly or repair work. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding technical issues or repair status. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting; comfortable working in physically demanding environments while maintaining high safety standards.
