$30-$38 per hour About ProBuilt Equipment Service ProBuilt Equipment Service is a construction equipment repair company serving contractors, utility companies, municipalities, and commercial customers throughout Long Island and the New York metro area. We specialize in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing commercial light-construction equipment. We are looking for a capable, dependable Construction Equipment Mechanic who can troubleshoot mechanical problems, complete repairs correctly, and become increasingly independent as they learn our equipment. You do not need prior experience with every machine we repair. We are open to mechanics coming from construction equipment, small-engine/power equipment, heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, motorcycle/powersports, or similar mechanical backgrounds. Equipment You May Work On Wacker Neuson rammers and plate compactors Honda-powered construction equipment and generators Pneumatic pavement breakers and jackhammers Husqvarna and Stihl concrete/cutoff saws Walk-behind concrete saws McElroy pipe-fusion equipment Electrical and mechanical construction equipment Other small and medium commercial equipment Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures Perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs Diagnose engines, fuel systems, ignition systems, and electrical problems Replace bearings, seals, belts, clutches, and other worn components Disassemble equipment, inspect components, and determine the actual cause of failure Use service manuals, wiring diagrams, specifications, and diagnostic equipment when necessary Test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation Keep tools, parts, and the work area organized Document repairs and parts used Communicate clearly when additional problems or damaged components are discovered Work independently once familiar with our equipment and procedures What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is mechanically capable and understands how to diagnose a problem rather than simply replace parts until something works . A good candidate may have experience in: Construction equipment repair Small-engine or power-equipment repair Heavy equipment Diesel repair Automotive repair Motorcycles, ATVs, or powersports Hydraulic or industrial equipment Experience with every type of equipment listed above is not required .
You should be comfortable with:
Mechanical diagnosis Engine and fuel-system repair Electrical troubleshooting Using a multimeter and basic diagnostic equipment Bearings, seals, belts, clutches, and mechanical assemblies Proper teardown and reassembly Following repair procedures and specifications We value someone who is dependable, organized, willing to learn unfamiliar equipment, and takes pride in repairing equipment correctly. Position Full-time $30-$38 per hour, depending on experience This is primarily a shop-based position in Deer Park, NY . You will work directly with the owner and will have the opportunity to learn specialized construction and pipe-fusion equipment that many general repair shops do not work on.
