This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of equipment including forklifts, construction machinery, farm machinery, and other heavy-duty vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with OEM parts and schematics, and a strong commitment to safety standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to operational efficiency through expert equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on hydraulic systems, electrical components, transmissions, and air brake systems using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance on forklifts, construction machinery, excavators, cranes, tractors, and other heavy equipment. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues related to suspension, steering, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and tire service. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Assist in the assembly of new equipment or machinery following OEM specifications. Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while handling large components or equipment during repair or installation. Conduct inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before failure occurs. Support equipment operation by performing routine checks and ensuring optimal functionality for heavy equipment operation. Collaborate with service technicians and other team members to resolve technical problems efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or similar role with dealership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, automotive diagnostics, welding, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engine repair. Familiarity with Schematics reading for electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical layouts. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving transmissions, suspensions, HVAC systems, power tools, and air brakes. Knowledge of OEM parts specifications for Caterpillar, Ford (Farm machinery), or similar brands is advantageous. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and heavy lifting equipment safely. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong customer service orientation. Relevant certifications such as ASE certification or equivalent are highly desirable. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
