We are looking for an experienced Master Mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment safe, reliable and operating at peak performance. Position Summary EBD is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Master Mechanic to take responsibility for the diagnosis, maintenance, repair and overall mechanical reliability of the company's fleet and equipment. This is an opportunity for a mechanic who can work independently, diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts, and confidently handle a wide range of diesel, gasoline, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will work primarily from EBD's new, heated Lackawanna shop, maintaining a diverse fleet that includes heavy trucks, tractor trailers, trailers, excavators, loaders, skid steers/Bobcats, forklifts, generators, specialty construction equipment and other company vehicles and equipment. EBD provides all tools and equipment necessary to perform the job, along with a company service vehicle and fuel card. Responsibilities Fleet Maintenance & Repair

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair company fleet vehicles, heavy equipment and specialty construction equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on diesel and gasoline-powered equipment.
• Maintain and repair heavy trucks, tractor trailers, lowboy and other trailers, excavators, loaders, skid steers/Bobcats, forklifts and other fleet equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines and related mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, wiring, starting and charging systems and related components.
• Perform brake, suspension, steering, drivetrain and other mechanical repairs as required.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential mechanical problems before they result in equipment failure or unnecessary downtime.
• Conduct equipment safety inspections and ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained in safe operating condition.
• Perform emergency or priority repairs when necessary to keep company operations moving.
• Use diagnostic equipment, power tools, hand tools and other shop equipment to accurately identify and correct mechanical problems.
• Complete repairs properly and efficiently while maintaining high standards for workmanship and safety. Preventive Maintenance & Fleet Reliability
• Follow and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for the company's fleet.
• Monitor equipment condition and communicate recommended repairs or replacement needs.
• Identify recurring mechanical issues and recommend solutions to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, parts and service performed.
• Coordinate parts and materials needed to complete repairs.
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe shop and work area.
• Ensure company vehicles and equipment are maintained in accordance with company and OSHA safety requirements. Communication & Operational Support
• Communicate clearly with company leadership regarding equipment condition, repair needs, parts requirements and anticipated downtime.
• Coordinate with operations and field personnel to prioritize repairs and minimize disruption to active projects.
• Provide practical recommendations regarding equipment maintenance, repair versus replacement and fleet reliability.
• Assist with maintaining company procedures for fleet maintenance and equipment inspections. Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Master Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic or comparable senior-level mechanic.
• Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and repair complex mechanical problems.
• Strong hands-on experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working on a diverse fleet of heavy trucks, trailers and construction equipment.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, service information, schematics and diagnostic information.
• Proven ability to perform preventive maintenance and maintain equipment service schedules.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of fleet maintenance responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license and dependable driving record.
• Three professional references are required.
• Must be dependable, safety-conscious and committed to maintaining equipment to a high standard. Preferred Qualifications
• 7+ years of heavy equipment, diesel or fleet mechanic experience.
• Experience maintaining construction and demolition equipment.
• Experience with excavators, loaders, skid steers/Bobcats and other heavy construction equipment.
• Advanced hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Advanced electrical diagnostic experience.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience diagnosing intermittent or complex mechanical/electrical problems.
• Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Experience working independently as the senior mechanic responsible for a company fleet. Compensation and Benefits
