ABOUT PWI

Precision Work Inc. is a family-owned, independent outdoor power equipment distributor founded in 1965. We are looking for a hands-on technician to join our shop team and help keep our equipment, our dealers and our customers running strong.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Diagnose, repair, and service lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment (engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, cutting decks, etc.)
• Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, blade sharpening/balancing, belt replacement, tune-ups
• Test-run repaired equipment to confirm proper operation before it goes back out
• Keep accurate, timely records of work performed, parts used, and time spent per job
• Communicate clearly with the shop manager and team on job status, parts needs, and any delays
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Help with receiving, prepping, or minor assembly of new equipment as needed
• Flag recurring issues or product defects to management
• Miscellaneous work and willing to pitch in wherever needed around the shop, from light physical tasks to pulling and shipping parts to occasional errands.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3-5 years of small engine/mechanic experience preferred, but not required; we'll train the right person
• Strong mechanical aptitude and genuine willingness to learn
• Must supply own hand tools (shop provides specialty/heavy equipment)
• Reliable transportation to and from the shop
• Punctual and dependable attendance
• Clear communicator; comfortable flagging problems, asking questions, and giving status updates
• Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple jobs
• Comfortable lifting equipment/parts and standing for extended periods
• A valid driver's license is a plus (may occasionally need to move equipment or run parts)

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with specific brands we carry (Walker, Viper, Ecolawn, Spyker, etc.)
• Small engine certification (Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, etc.)
• Welding or fabrication skills
• Prior dealership or distributor shop experience
