Job Description
Job Overview We're looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys working with tools, and wants to build a career in heavy equipment maintenance. You'll assist with maintaining and repairing equipment used in concrete crushing operations while learning from experienced mechanics. Responsibilities Perform oil changes, greasing, fluid checks, and other routine maintenance. Help inspect and repair heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, and crushers. Use hand and power tools to complete maintenance tasks. Assist with equipment repairs and part replacements. Keep equipment and work areas clean and safe. Travel to job sites throughout Long Island as needed. Follow all safety procedures. What We're Looking For Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Experience with basic maintenance, repairs, or hands-on mechanical work. Comfortable using hand tools and shop equipment. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Dependable and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Nice to Have Automotive, diesel, or equipment maintenance experience. Basic welding skills. Trade school or technical training. Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, loaders, or excavators. Why Join Us? Paid, hands-on training. Work Environment This is a hands-on outdoor position working at job sites across Long Island, from Westbury to the Hamptons. The role involves physical work, tool usage, and maintaining heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment. We're willing to train someone with a good work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westbury, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
