Job Description

Commonwealth Plywood is currently seeking Heavy Equipment mechanic for our plant located in Whitehall New York. They are responsible for the overall operating performance of a variety of equipment used through out the log yard and mill. Ensure on increasing production by helping to improve the efficiency of equipment by minimizing down time. Pay will be based off of experience.   • Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant facilities.
  • Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust equipment for efficient and safe operation.
  • Perform mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair on production and packaging machines and use a variety of maintenance tools.
  • Coordinate and install new equipment as necessary and work with other technical support to ensure proper procedures/operation.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and all of Commonwealth Plywood's current safety procedures, including wearing proper PPE.
  • Maintain spare parts and maintenance supplies, including ordering and receiving from vendors.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • All other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS

1) Technical training in mechanical, industrial electrical, and hydraulics 2) Experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting 3) Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations 4) Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment that requires fulfillment of daily commitments 5) Effectively gather and analyze information to allow for timely/efficient decision making. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours are Monday through Friday for three various shifts, with overtime

$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
